BRAZIL
To be a
voice for those who have none, a merciful embrace for the young
and for those who are marginalized.
A huge country,
rich in natural resources, and yet many are dying of hunger
here! In particular, there are large numbers of children who
have no family or roof over their heads and who lack everything…
We make them our priority by dedicating our attention to them,
welcoming them into our shelters and giving them food and
education. Another affliction is AIDS. We seek to bring relief
and hope to these sick people in hospices, as well as offering
support to their families. We are also involved in various
pastoral activities and in promoting the role of women.
CROATIA
Love is
stronger than anything and is rebuilding faith and joy in the
heart of a people that has passed through dark valleys.
In this situation
that still bears the wounds of Communist devastation we want to
bear witness to joy and peace, at the service of the local
Church in catechesis and family visiting, especially by caring
for children and adolescents, the elderly and the sick.
SOUTH KOREA
Following the example of the First Korean Martyrs, we spend our
lives so that the joy ful news of the Gospel may become known and
may take root in the secular traditions of the East.
We are committed
to various types of evangelization and service:
care of abandoned babies or those with disabilities,
the blind, lepers, the poor…
nursery schools,
catechesis for children and young people,
support for families,
spiritual retreats for laypeople,
assistance to immigrants,
presence in various parishes,
and collaboration in pastoral activities.
JAPAN

We aim
to be a hidden leaven that brings with it the vitality of the
Risen Lord, by building dialog among the diverse religious
traditions, with peace, justice and respect for creation.
In this country
where Catholics are in a clear minority, we seek to be an
attentive presence, welcoming children and families of whatever
religion:
we lead periods of inter-religious prayer,
we help immigrants in their study of the local language,
we are involved in justice and peace movements,
and those concerned with saving the planet.
UNITED STATES
International communities witness to fraternity irrespective of
differences of race and culture.
We are a presence
and a leaven in a multicultural and complex society, offering
oases of spiritual retreats for laypeople, making our presence
felt where the marginalized are, bringing relief and comfort to
the sick and the elderly.
ITALY
Among
the thousands of voices, claims and virtual images offered by
the “media”, we aim to be a sign of Gospel values, witnesses to
the Risen Lord and light for those who have no hope.
In a comfortable
society in which new poverties are emerging on all sides,
reflecting on the image of the Good Samaritan, we seek to live
out the spiritual and corporal works of mercy.
Being close to children, elderly people, the disabled and sick,
families…and most of all giving a listening ear to young people
who are searching for a deeper meaning to life.
ROMANIA
Having
undergone the icy Communist regime for 40 years, our charism has
seen a new flowering.
We are trying to
provide a family and a home to orphaned children or to those who
are sick with AIDS. We support them with education and food,
through adoptions at a distance, and stand by them as they look
for a decent life.
We become neighbors to families and in particular to the elderly
so as to bring them bodily relief and spiritual consolation.
ZAMBIA
“Whenever you did this to the least of my brothers, you did it
to me.” (Matthew 25:40)
In this wonderful
country, yet one deeply wounded by the affliction of AIDS, in
collaboration with the local Church, we seek to prevent its
spread, to help and to heal, by visiting families.
We organize food centers, offering children at least one meal a
day.
We have homes where we can take in the very young, offering them
instruction and physical rehabilitation.
We devote ourselves in various ways to fostering women’s
cultural and social development.
THE PHILIPPINES, RUSSIA, KENYA,
CHINA, INDONESIA, MOLDOVA
Wherever we are,
we try to make St. Francis of Assisi’s wonderful charism present
in today’s world, just like Mother Angela tried to do.
In prayer and action, from our contemplation of the face of the
Glorious Crucified Christ in San Damiano to the practice of the
works of mercy, we are “restoring” life wherever it is
threatened or wounded, bringing hope wherever human violence and
oppression has suffocated the dignity of men and women, being
instruments of peace, dialog, communion and universal
fraternity.
THE PHILIPPINES
Giving back hope
and putting a smile on the faces of so many children, taking
them off the streets and offering them shelter, food, play,
education and affection.
RUSSIA
“I and
you gave me something to
eat.”
A hidden and discreet presence, yet
one that is significant for
so many young people and adolescents, for so many poor people
and those who are alone…
KENYA
Keeping the flame
burning.
In the great suburbs of Nairobi, in addition to formation of the
young women who are preparing for religious life, we make our
presence felt among the poorest, visiting their families and
helping children through feeding programs and organizing new
schools.
CHINA
Perpetuating that
embrace which changed both the leper’s life and that of St.
Francis, we are present in a leper colony that is confined to
the mountains, offering care and human warmth to these wounded
brothers
and sisters who are alone.

INDONESIA
Providing
calmness and support to those who have little to live on. We
struggle to secure the survival of so many families, sharing
with them what we receive from the generosity of some of our
friends. We also try to offer Christian formation to the
children and the young people.
MOLDOVAN REPUB LIC
To be light and a
friendly presence in the midst of a people that has always borne
its own painful history with dignity.
